On April 26, 2008, members of the Push America staff and various friends and family will be participating in the Country Music Marathon in Nashville, Tennessee to raise funds and awareness for people with disabilities. As the Push America Challenge becomes a formidable Push America program, the staff decided it was time to assemble a team and accept the challenge.
As for many on the team, the Country Music Marathon will be their first; however, it is the reason we are all running that fuels our motivation. Push America strives to spread the message of acceptance and understanding for people with disabilities and it is our goal to raise awareness for people with disabilities through our demonstration of human ability. As a team, we have committed to raising $10,000 for the organization to go towards benefitting the individuals we serve through our programs. By clicking on the “sponsor me” link at the top of this page and making a tax-deductible donation on our behalf, you will be helping Push America better serve people with disabilities. As a registered 501(c)(3) organization, Push America ensures all funds raising will go directly to benefit its programs.

Registration for the race is still open and the Push America staff is excited to have more participants join the team to help celebrate our cause. As the race is still a few months away, there is still plenty of time to train and make the necessary travel arrangements. If you are interested in participating in the Country Music Marathon, register at http://www.cmmarathon.com/register.html. When registering, use the “RUNMC” coupon code and save $15.00 on your registration fee. Upon your registration to the event, contact Basil Lyberg at blyberg@pushamerica.org and let him know you have decided to join our team in Nashville.
If running a marathon was on your New Year’s resolution, but April 26 seems a little soon, plan on joining Push America at the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. during the fall. Look for an official announcement in an upcoming edition of the ePerspective.
